Parros-Shelley: Manly Men Doing Manly Things

Here's the Shelley-Parros row for those who missed it.  This isn't going to make us look good to all the basketball pussies over at Golden State of Mind, is it?

More importantly, who won the fight?  I'd say Parros (he came back strong in the end and he didn't fall down in 10 seconds) but Shelley started hot.  Thoughts?

Edit: I'm a fucking idiot and put up the wrong fight.  Here's the correct one:

Kings-Sharks: Exhale

I’d condemn the fight, except these two guys are clearly white, so it must be OK.

I listened to part of the game on the Ducks radio when driving home last night, and I had to laugh at Steve Carroll’s mid-game assessment, something like: “The Sharks are 10-1-1 when Jody Shelley gets in a fight, so there must be something to that.”

Uh, wouldn’t that mean that the Sharks were 12-2-1 when Jody Shelley didn’t fight? Probably fairer to say that the Sharks win lots of games regardless of what Shelley does between whistles.

I called Corey Perry a thug in my writeup of the game.

That may represent just about the nicest thing anybody has said about Corey Perry.

That’s one of the most well-written live blogs I’ve seen, PJ. Corey Perry isn’t even a thug, he’s just a little bitch. A thug is someone you might actually be afraid of, like Chris Pronger.

You know what I’d like to see? A Perry-Ribeiro fight. I imagine it would look like this.

I imagine it would look like this.

Ha, that is hilarious. Of course, both those guys stayed on their feet for about 30 seconds longer than I’d expect either Perry or Ribeiro to.

Oh, and one other thing about your Sharkspage recap

(Link)

It was Ryan Carter who kneed Legace in the head, not Bobby Ryan.

This team has way too many Ryans to keep them all straight, though. You’re excused.

Sorry, will fix it. Was writing that as fast as I could so I could get down to take photos.

Which one was the guy who always got beat up in San Jose?

by pj48 on Dec 12, 2008 6:17 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Carter’s old number.

I’ve never noticed it before (though you flaunt this photo plenty), but there’s a nice sense of symmetry in the way the number 52s line up.

I don’t imagine it lasted very long, though — nice timing!

Incidentally,

the link is to their Oct 17th fight in Anaheim. The one yesterday looked remarkably similar though. No real clear cut winner w/ Parros wrestling Shelly down at the end.

Actually, it might not be that bad to have both fights up there — compare and contrast!

I’m just laughing that I tried to search for the right one on youtube to link and couldn’t find it.

In my defense, I didn’t try for very long and typed in “Parros vs Shelly 12/11/2008” instead of “Parros vs Shelly Dec 11, 2008” like I obviously should have. Oh, and scrolling down is so beneath me.

I can't really vote on who won the scrap

because I’m biased, but that uppercut by Parros was just wicked.
