Kings Gameday: I Don't Wanna Write, You Don't Wanna Read

LA Kings  (14-14-6) vs. Phoenix Coyotes (16-14-5)

7:30 PST, Fox Sports

(Phoenix perspective at Five for... Howling???  I don't believe it.)

I'll be honest, I'm tired from driving and celebrating Christmas (Fuck yeah, Jesus!) so this'll be short.  I'm sure you don't really care what I have to say today either, so we'll just pretend I made you laugh once or twice and call it a day.

The Kings responded to my emotional speech earlier this week, blanking the Columbus Blue Jackets, 3-0.  Anze Kopitar played great, Peter Harrold scored his first goal of the season in front of his friends and family, Jonathan Quick made the saves he needed to, blah blah blah.  Let's keep it going tonight against a decent Phoenix team.

Does anyone else think that the sound guy for the Kings plays the music for international tournaments?  I remember thinking this last year, and then I was watching the US-Germany game on the NHL Network and they play a lot of the same music, including that embarrassing new goal song the Kings just started playing.  Strange.

Prediction: Kings win, 1-0.  Goal by Dustin Brown.  Good night.

Damn, are the Coyotes really just two points back of the Ducks? Stupid losing.

Oh, and while we’re on the topic of post-Christmas laziness: my family’s still in town the rest of the week, so I’m probably not writing anything for tomorrow’s or Sunday’s Ducks games. Just win, bitches.

So sorry, Sleek, but the dogs are gonna catch up with your Ducks tonight. Quick gave up no goals Tuesday in Columbus… which means he’ll give up six in the first period tonight.

Stupid losing.

Yeah, it’s amazing that you fall further back in the standings when you lose. Us Kings fans are experts at that type of feeling.

WAIT?!

The Kings have a new stupid embarassing goal song?!

FINALLY! I hate hearing I LOVE LA…(I really hate hearing it when the play the Ducks of course)

GO DUCKS!!

I have mixed feelings about that song. On the one hand, I love the song. On the other hand, I’m a huge LA/Anaheim Angels fan, and “I Love LA” is basically the Dodgers’ theme song.

Although if memory serves, they still do play it on occasion at Kings games after a Kings goal.

Can somebody remind me what song they were playing at the USA/Germany game? I watched parts… just none of the goal-scoring parts.
