Should we re-acquire Miller?

Here's a question for you... Now that Drew Miller is on waivers, should we re-acquire him? We practically get first dibs since we're so damn low in the standings right now.

That would mean we essentially get Evgeny Artyukhin for free.  I still think Miller is a serviceable player and he could be used if those early rumors of a Todd Marchant trade are true.  Although I don't really want to see Marchant traded.

I wouldn’t panic if the Ducks re-acquired Miller Lite, but I’d probably say no — it’d be too weird. Besides, I suspect there may be better players on waivers later — no need to grab at ’em all.

Why not? It’s not like we couldn’t put him on waivers again if need be. I’m pretty sure he’s on a 2-way contract so it’s not like it’ll cost the big club anything or count against the cap if we just keep him in the minors.

What spot do we need him for, though? You want to bench Brown or Nokelainen for a guy that was traded away in the summer?

It’s not an impossible situation, but it has been made all the more awkward by recent history. I don’t really know why that awkwardness needs to be in the Anaheim locker room, especially if we’re just talking about a fairly lateral move — I don’t know if he’s an upgrade over anybody dressed last game.

Don’t want to discourage the fanpostin’, though — keep it up. I’m sometimes terrible at following the newswire.

I don’t really think that picking Miller off of waivers would make the locker room anymore awkward than is probably already is (given the Jiggy trade/retirement thoughts).

I meant talks not thoughts.

Yeah, I’m guessing Giguere’s quote is a bigger deal outside the lockerroom than it is inside it.

Players talk into a microphone, I usually end up shrugging.

Don’t the players need someone to bring them coffee, gatorade, and energy drinks?

My roommate is convinced Drew Miller could someday be a top line player if only he were given the opportunity. Actually, he is a top line player on his NHL 10 Be a Player.

The West Coast is the Best Coast.

Oh well, it looks like Detroit has claimed Drew Miller.

Guess the Ducks did pass him by.

Wings have Miller and May now? I remember that fourth line.

Don’t forget Bertuzzi too… granted he wasn’t a fourth liner although he sure played like it sometimes.

By the way… just a little bit of info…

The Ducks were 5th in the waiver wire order, while Detroit was 12th.
