Kings Gameday: As Much Effort As They Put In Last Night

Los Angeles Kings at Tampa Bay Lightning, Nov 14, 2009 4:30 PM PST

"You fellas have a lot of growing up to do, I'll tell you that. Ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. Can you believe these characters? Way out of line. Way out of line. Have a good mind to go to the [commissioner] about this. You know what hurts the most is the... the lack of respect. You know? That's what hurts the most. Except for the... Except for the other thing. That hurts the most. But the lack of respect hurts the second most."

Amazing how fast the train fell off the rail in that one. Nice night for Pavelec to have his career freakin’ night too.

Yeah my policy of not starting fantasy goalies that are playing the Kings really screwed me over yesterday

hey guess what game they have on the NHL channel right now … :)

(yeah, way to rub in the salt in more)

Ever get the feeling we are on a collision course with reality? (boycott Hollywood!)

Nice to see an important 50-50 call go the Kings way. It looked like O’Donnell pushed a little on the Tampa guy but he took it as license to push Quick’s face sideways. I think it was a good call but would probably be pissed if I was a Tampa fan.

I had to join just to say, thanks for reminding me of how awesome Dirty Work is!

Takes and trash talk from all sides of the NHL's most pathetic* rivalry

So was going through the Top 10 Coaches of the Decade and Babcock is #1. I have no problem with that assessment.

But I was shocked to see this picture. Is it me or has he AGED CONSIDERABLY since starting out in Anaheim?

One of my Row B pals decided to take an "unjustifiably upbeat Sleek" shot from last night's awful opener. He shot the picture from the back to preserve my internet aura of mystery, but I'll admit I was posing for the shot.

It's true, though -- I did have a pretty swell time despite the fact that the Ducks didn't show up. Plank was a great Row B guest -- didn't kick us when he could have, and we all had a good batch of cynical fun. Good thing it was only Game One -- easy enough to laugh off a shitty loss when there's 81 more chances to get it right.

As a bonus in the picture, I believe the blurry dude to the right of my elbow is that very same Mr. Plank, proudly sporting his Pavelski jersey. Now that's some SB Nation networking, right there.

Upbeat Sleek says: "Go Ducks."
