BOC Trophy

I have been trying to find away to post the following idea the past few years, but have been too lazy to sign up for the account.  I think there should be a Battle of California Trophy.  While the NHL will probably never adopt this, it doesn't mean that this site cannot.  The Battle of California Trophy would be determined by the team with the most points (from playing the other California team) at the end of the season.

Sharks 3-1-1 7 points

Kings 3-0-1 7 points

Anaheim 0-3-0  0 points

Sure you have — just conveniently found the energy to actually propose it the first year when the Kings weren’t slotted to get the fewest intra-BoC wins?

Well, here’s what you neglected to do the last couple of years, then:

08/09:
Sharks 9-3-0, 18 pts
Kings 4-5-3, 11 pts
Ducks 5-7-0, 10 pts

07/08:
Ducks 11-4-1, 23 pts
Sharks 7-5-4, 18 pts
Kings 6-8-2, 14 pts

06/07:
Ducks 9-4-3, 21 pts
Sharks 9-7-0, 18 pts
Kings 6-8-2, 14 pts

05/06:
Sharks 10-5-1, 21 pts
Ducks 9-4-3, 21 pts
Kings 5-9-2, 12 pts

Post-lockout total (before this season):

Sharks 35-20-5, 75 pts
Ducks 34-19-7, 75 pts
Kings 21-30-9, 51 pts

My condolences.

Can we incorporate this though? Some sort of cartoon trophy, running on the side panel?

Best part of it would be it is a cup Detroit would never win.

Fanposts are always open, but you may have to have Gray draw the cartoons.

I guess my hesitance comes from the fact that once you win actual trophies, your desire for fake ones goes away a little. :)

That’s what I thought after the Kings won the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl. But now, I’ll settle for a cartoon trophy. You’re just going through a phase, Sleek. Soon enough, you’ll yearn for a pseudo-trophy again, too

not to say his idea is a bad one, cause we all are entitled to our own ideas … but I don’t want a cartoon trophy … I want the real thing dammit!

Sorry Ang. I think you’re going to just have to be content with the 2002, 2004 and 2007 ArenaBowl trophies…

If I recall last year was your year, then the Penguins won, also the year before that but it was Detroit’s year actually, and before that was your year until it turned out the Ducks were better than you.

Ah, don’t listen to the bitter quacking sounds up there, I like it.

Look at them. Like a sad copy of Rudy Giuliani…a noun, a verb, and 2007.

Someday you’ll get something to add to your noun and verb.

But yeah, invent whatever trophy you want. Self-congratulation has some value, I guess.

Soooooooooour!

Look, don’t take the future from anyone. It’s all we got. Your own sad hopes of redemption lie in it, also.

The NHL did that a while ago, it’s called the president;s trophy.

Ducks fan in San Jose, let the bandwagon begin.
