Ducks Gameday—Atlanta gets the green shirt treatment
Atlanta Thrashers (19-32-5, 14th in east) at Anaheim Ducks (28-24-5, t-5th in west)
For some Thrash Talk, go see Bird Watchers Anonymous, or read this Mirtle post.
I'm going to the game tonight, courtesy of Tapeleg's west coast hockey adventures -- Tapeleg writes at Jerseys and Hockey Love, The Rink Podcast, and even a microblog to keep track of his west coast travels. Here's his take from seeing the Flames shutout the Kings on Thursday, and I'm just a guest as part of the next NHL stopover.

Welcome back, ...Schneider? Yeah, I'm lazily re-using an old Niedermayer unretirement pic.
So I'll be in the upper deck (section 432, Row N) wearing my lucky green shirt (by the way, did you know that there's a new batch coming out? My days of uniqueness might be coming to an end.). After the game, some of my friends are going to play a rec-style running-clock game on Honda Center ice, so I'll wander down in the lower bowl for at least part of that.
You might think that I'm confident about the Ducks' chances tonight against the 14th-ranked Thrashers, but don't forget: the Ducks have lost their last three games against teams ranked 14th or worse. Anytime they feel like bucking that trend, I'm ready to support that.
Prediction: Ducks 5, Thrashers 3. Goals by Selanne, Perry, Pahlsson x2, and Montador. After the game, my pals win, too.
Go Ducks.

For sure. I’m not really sure I like the new design — I definitely like the one I’ve got better.
I’m OK with the angry Irishman, though it seems a little random, but I’m not so sure about the shamrock on the sleeve. Whatever — I’ve already got my one — demand is low in my neck of the woods.

SportsClubStats says this game hurts our playoff chances by 10 percent if we lose in regulation

Yeah, so we officially lost dropped by 15 percentage points yesterday. From a projected 8th place finish now to a projected finish at 10th in the West.

So I guess it’s time to upgrade to the new lucky green shirt.

Or maybe it’s time to fucking root for a team that puts in effort when games are winnable. Let’s start trading.

Don’t act like you don’t know the only reason we lost was because Pahlsson wasn’t there to pwn those noobs.

well there’s one reason…
there were 7 other reasons they lost too…two of them were shorthanded!

Also, pulling Giguere didn’t feel right to me. He wasn’t stellar, but he certainly didn’t seem to be the cause. They should have put Hiller in on defense.
And how the fuck do you figure that I sit Festerling on my fantasy team and play Niedermayer (seems smart, right?) and Scott puts up negative fantasy points with his -4 rating while the Uncle puts up 2 assists and finishes with a +2. Dammit.

Agreed. And really, it may be that Hiller let in more soft goals than Giguere last night.
Positivity from Sleek has left the building!
That was the liquor talking. BTW, Tapeleg has posted his recap of seeing a game with Sleek (plus a bonus game). I guess I wasn’t photogenic enough to make the print version. :)

And to think it was CHOC night tonight, where all the sick kids come to get inspired (to live, presumably).
The Ducks couldn’t even pull off a win for the children.
