Yeah, I read both of PD’s linked pieces before seeing the actual piece, and was kind of surprised at how he interpreted them. I like Wyshynski all right, but somebody should point out that there’s a difference between being a deadline seller and being “done”.
I have no issue with GM Murray fielding calls and generating interest with his boatload of UFAs, but I do think there’s a sizeable difference between being 1 point or 20 points out of a playoff spot. Wysh confuses me by pretending that GM Murray thinks that they are equivalent, simply based on his admission that he is fielding calls from other GMs.
I don’t really know if this says much different than what I’ve been pointing out for a while — if the Ducks haven’t turned it around significantly, they should be sellers. Still, maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I’m guy who’d wait until a GM says that his team is “done” before implying so in a headline.

I agree. Lately I have been more on the Earl Sleek side with regard to Pronger.
If they play this season out with this group, that’s a bad ass blue line now with the addition of Whitney. We could be a dark horse in the playoffs, take it as far as possible, then trade Pronger in July.
Best of both worlds kind of.
