Know Your Blogger: Earl Sleek
Oh man, I totally missed this when it was posted, but I did a "Get to know a blogger" Q&A with The Blueland Chronicle, a quality Thrashers blog, a couple of weeks ago. If you're at all interested in some of the history of my hockey fandom or some outside interests, feel free to check it out.

Seinfeld", “the Simpsons”, “South Park”, etc.,
So you haven’t watched South Park in a while? Did you ever see the episode “Stanley’s Cup”? That was a great episode about (obviously) hockey. It parodies many parts of the Mighty Ducks movies, among others. Link, if you feel like watching it
I’m quite fond of the 2003 run to the Stanley Cup Finals also — that was really the magical run
Yes, yes. Every sense of the word “magical” describes those playoffs perfectly. It’s almost a nostalgic memory to me, even though I was a teenager.
Nobody cares about your opinion.

Hmm, maybe that got misstated. I’m still watching the Simpsons and South Park (new episodes), but I never did see “Stanley’s Cup”. No time today, but I am definitely clicking that link at some point.

Cake’s bass lines are awesome, but what I really like is the way the singer half-sings and half-talks. It’s like he’s talking on pitch. I dunno — stylistically that works for me.
…..does that mean you’re gonna have a tuning tonite?
Shut it down!

I’m not anti-Matrix, but I think I liked that series less and less as it went along. The first movie was awesome, though.

I wouldn’t call that 2003 finals run magical. The way I remember it, it was pretty damned sad and frustrating to see the Wings so completely beaten. CuJo got such a raw deal there. It was certainly entertaining though. I was a junior in high school at the time, just started driving, and in large part because of staying up and watching those Ducks/Stars games going well into the morning, I discovered the joys of sleeping in through my first and second hour classes, and then coming into school for halfdays. With all of us driving too by this time, it was the start of when me and my buddies would start getting together to watch playoff games. Fun times, fun times.
Heh, I think one area I’ve come around is the value of the player interview — I once thought those were interesting.
Excellent opinion!
