Our boy Mike Chen has a great post up illustrating just what exactly Gary Bettman does.  People seem to think he's some sort of dark lord, but Mike points out that Bettman is pretty much just a go-getter for the Board of Governors.  My dad was a city manager for a bunch of years and his job is pretty much the same as Bettman's, which is appropriate because everyone used to ask me, "So your dad is like lord of the city?" and then bitch to me about some pothole out in front of their street.  Yeah I'll make sure he gets right on that, chemistry teacher.
