Kings update: Dustin Brown is skating with Ryan Kesler and Jamie Langenbrunner, Jack Johnson seems to be skating with Brooks Orpik, Drew Doughty is pretty much just on the power play for Canada, and Alex Frolov isn't on Russia.
I'm pretty pumped. I love the Olympics, I love sports, and I love hockey. This is going to be awesome.

Three pools of four teams, they each play within their own pool. The top team from each pool plus the top remaining team get a bye in the first round of the elimination round, and get to play easier competition in theory.
Goal differential is a tie-breaking factor, so USA shouldn’t let up — they want to win today by as many as possible.

Generally, all the Ducks have had relatively strong games.
Hiller’s let in a couple iffies, but he’s made up for it with general excellence otherwise. Sbisa looks like a noticeable player. Bobby Ryan had a goal but is a bit buried by Team USA depth. And Whitney hasn’t tangibly cost Team USA at all.

My patriotism is deeply conflicted. Sometimes, I think I know who I’m rooting for, but then when the game actually starts, I find that I’m pulling for the other team.
Tentatively, I’ll say USA over Canada. Finland is up there, but I don’t know exactly where. Everywhere else, I’m just hoping the Ducks stay healthy and do reasonably well.

Callahan plays for the Rangers and kind of sucks* but he’s good on the penalty kill, which he plays with Drury.
*He doesn’t suck but he’s not as good as New Yorkers would have you believe. He’s one of those guys that they claim will be great and then try to trade him to you for your best player, then try to claim he’s amazing and how they can’t fathom how you’d say no to him. Like Joba Chamberlain.
