...Shit. One goal scored against the Handzus line, one goal scored on the penalty kill, and two goals scored against the Kopitar line. That cost us the game. On the plus side, we probably played our best game for the first two periods. Still haven't played a good game yet, though. And Ryan Smyth has been playing like shit all series.

Oh well, boys, you'll get 'em next time.

I’m kinda surprised he’s still in Manchester. I know it’s good for the kids down there, but Quick hasn’t exactly been amazing this series. Solid sure, but not amazing.

He obviously never had the greatest hockey sense, but I wonder if his stupid play these days has to do with coaching or is it just him. I mean, aren’t they telling him what he should do or is he ignoring the coaches’ orders?

I dunno, that’s of course true but I also get the feeling that he’s trying to do more difficult stuff than when he’s “on”. And then he fails at that.

I dunno bout that. Smyth made the heads up play off the Johnson shot wide of the net to put the rebound on Simmonds’ stick for the 4-4 tie. That was a heads up. He appears to be doing his job on the PP by screening Luongo. He may have lost a step over the years, and isn’t a 20-30 goal guy, but is a veteran in the Playoffs and can impart some of that experience on the Kings’ young players.

He can still be effective but I think he tries to do too much and he can’t accept a hard pass, the puck comes off of his stick more than anybody. I think we should (but won’t) start the next game with Richardson (or Parse, but since Kopi’s line is going to match up with the Sedin’s in Vancouver Richardson would be more appropriate) up with Kopi and move Smyth down with Handzus and Modin. That might get Smyth going and Kopi-Richadson-Meat was an effective line earlier in the season, and are good defensively.
