Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Sharks Postgame: Physics

Physics_medium

Patrick Marleau comes alive, Logan Couture is awesome, Craig Anderson is a mere mortal, and Evgeni Nabokov is a superman.

THIS is how the series should have been all along. The Avalanche still have life, and will come out flying in the next game trying to avenge this humiliation, but this Sharks team will be more than ready for them.

Not surprised about the complaints about the refs, though. Avs fans have been complaining about the refs after wins! After an embarassing loss…I’d guess it’s a coping mechanism.

It’s not the Avs’ fault they lost because

1) the refs are on the Sharks side
2) the San Jose ice was bad
3) the Sharks are bigger and stronger and hurt a bunch of Avs players
4) the Sharks are a way better team.
5) the Avalanche suck

They seem completely oblivious to that fact. Regardless of if the ice sucked or not, the Avs lost, I say, suck it up and deal with it. Aside from sucky ice or not, the Avs played like shit and the Sharks had an amazing game. No ice in the world would have made a fucking difference.

The Avs were just bad, plain and simple. Officiating is what it is in the playoffs, you have to be able to rise above the calls or non-calls. Anderson was terrible last night, the Avs sustained no pressure and the Sharks played very well. The Avs looked very slow and tired.

True story: when I was working in a big bookstore in high school all the clerks used to play games with the nametags, making new ones and switching them on the aprons, and finally one person made a Satan one. Well, I ended it up with it one day when I didn’t check, and a patron pointed it out to me. “Why do you have SATAN on your nametag?” I played it all bashful: "Oh, I get that all the time — you say it “Shay-tan” — it’s Slovakian actually." And the lady just went, “Oh, you poor girl.”

Hockey is so useful.
