NHL 11 for Spade!! We need your donations!
Just like your local PBS and NPR stations, it's time to start the pledge drive again so that we can get NHL 11 for Spade. So here's an update on where we're at in trying to reach our nearly insurmountable goal of $60.
As you can see, since my last update from my original posts here and here, nothing has changed. For those of you who are new to this blog, take a look at the original posts as well to see why this is even something we're contemplating.
The NHL 11 release date is quickly approaching (September 7th) so we need your support now!
Without your support, BoC and Spade couldn't bring you such beauties as this, this, this, and this. You can see all of Spade's antics here.
This just in... Amazon.com is selling pre-orders for NHL 11 for only $56.99 with free standard shipping. That means no tax and free shipping! Don't we all just love buying stuff out of state. We're now only $35.99 away from reaching our goal!
But that's not all. Now with your donation of any amount, receive a free gift of Spade's Eternal love!
Please send in your PayPal donations to woo_derek[at]yahoo.com and let's get Spade NHL 11!
If you do not have a PayPal account and don't want to sign up for one but still want to donate, go ahead and email me directly at woo_derek[at]yahoo.com and we'll work something out to get the money in the account.
Disclaimer: Spade's Eternal love subject to Spade's willingness to offer eternal love to you. There are no guarantees that he will love you, in fact, I highly doubt he will. Any and all donations below the purchase price of NHL 11 will go directly to Spade so that he can hopefully use it towards buying himself NHL 11. If we reach the actual goal, I'll go ahead and make a direct purchase for Spade and have it shipped to him directly. Any amount above the purchase price will be put up to a vote on BoC to decide what to do with it.

I would donate but...
I’m protesting Electronic Arts for the fucked up fact that they want to charge people to go online(in a way). Just another Electronic Company who wants to penny pinch the consumer>:-(
Here is what they're doing.
When you purchase a NEW copy of ANY EA Sports title beginning with Tiger Woods 2011, it comes with a code key to access on-line gameplay. If you buy a USED EA Sports game beginning with Tiger Woods 2011, you have to go to EA website to PURCHASE a code key to play on-line. Also the code key is only good for one time activation so if you say want to take the game to a friend’s house to play, you can’t play on-line with the game. So basically if you buy a new game and want to play on-line your fine, otherwise they’re forcing people to basically bend over and take it up the you know what.
eh
that’s alright…who buys used games anyway. I mean, I don’t. =)
dude but its me….i plan to send all donaters….somthing…wouldnt make sense for it to cost anything…so it could be drawings or somthing

It’s not fair to penalize Spade for something that EA is doing.
I agree that EA is stupid right now and that the video game industry is at a point in time where it’s getting scared about used games. It used to never bother them before, but all of the sudden its the big thing to talk about in the industry. They need to wake up and realize that secondary markets create a bigger primary market. It’s simple economics really – allowing purchasers to lower their risk of buying a new item. But by limiting the value in used games by making the games less useful will just hurt them in the long run. Instead, providing special incentives to purchase new is a better move. The used game still needs to be able to retain value otherwise people won’t risk buying a new game if they can’t sell it used. Online play is too big of a thing to remove from a game. Maybe they should instead throw in some freebies like 3rd jerseys, avatar items, or free player attribute points when you buy it new. Heck, why not just give players a special achievement for buying new?
A good place to read about the idiocy of the video game market is here: www.techdirt.com – They also talk about how ridiculous the music and movie industry is as well.
O CANT WAIT TO BUY YAY!!!
