LA's goaltending: Quick/Bernier/ ?
Even with the addition of Mitchell on D, I can't picture Quick being a cup winning goalie in LA. Bernier is still young, 23 years old. I can see the coaching staff going with Quick for the majority of the season but giving Bernier 10-15 games.
Will Quick be in a timeshare with Bernier this year? Or will LA be starting Quick unless he plays poorly or gets hurt? Or does anyone think Bernier is capable of taking the starting job at some point through the year?
Does anyone have any reliable information/links regarding Bernier's Pro/minor league status this year?

Thanks for joining, Ersberg. :)
Kidding — good questions, but it’s going to be tough to predict too much now, I think — we may know more after a month of Quick starts.

Not a link but I’m pretty sure it was Murray that said he was looking to get his #1 goaltender 55-60 games, leaving about 20 for the back-up.
All you can really say for sure is that it’ll be Quick and Bernier. Rich Hammond is of the opinion that Erik Ersberg will probably go back to Europe and I agree with him. Murray’s a loyal coach so I think it’ll be Quick to start but whoever plays best will play most. One thing to remember about Quick is that he’s almost 2 full years younger than Jimmy Howard; he’s not close to a finished product. If Quick can learn Bernier’s technique then he probably has a higher ceiling. Both will push each other in camp, one will do better, the other will be traded in 2-3 years to Toronto where they’ll let in a ton of goals and be cursed forever.
LOL! Everyone has to get a stab in on Toronto… their GM makes himself look like a clown :o)
Quick is still young, but he hasn’t looked comfortable… They should just keep Ersberg around so that they have a backup when they send Bernier back to the farm(assuming they still have that option), so Bernier can keep playing even while Quick gets starts.
It’s hard to say if Quick’s technique will be influenced by Bernier- I personally doubt it. Once goaltenders learn a technique they’ll stick with it because it’s habit and second nature.
