Pressure's on, Foster! (UFA Day Thread 2)

The Ducks have traded Andy Sutton to Edmonton for defenseman Kurtis Foster.

Fosters_medium
Hooray!

This is great news, because the last two times the Ducks traded for an Edmonton defenseman, they produced excellent first full seasons:

GP G - A - Pts +/-
Chris Pronger 66 13 - 46 - 59 +27
Lubomir Visnovsky 81 18 - 50 - 68 +18

Don't break the trend, Foster!  :)

Anyways, we needed another UFA day thread -- here it is!

Go insanity.

This just in...

The Florida Panthers have offered Drew Doughty a 23-year deal with the planet Venus as a signing bonus.
If Doughty accepts the Panthers will still be several million below the salary floor.

Who’s the rival GM?

Tallon’s probably drunk enough to talk.

I listen to Tallon get interviewed on Toronto’s 590AM today. Dude sounded like he had imbibed a few tinkles through out the day.

Yzerman says they’re out on Richards. This sucks because it gives them time to court Simon Gagne while the Kings wait.

Somehow I think I missed this in the postings today, but did Bobby Ryan say this?

Even players from other teams agreed. Anaheim’s Bobby Ryan posted the following on twitter: “Anybody feel like FLA is winning the race today? Tons of action! Some good pickups too.”

Yeah, but Bobby Ryan’s an idiot. He also lamented Sutton getting traded away.

and i guess “dabbling” didn’t work too well lol… so who else is out there other than drury?

by Albert K on Jul 1, 2011 7:45 PM PDT reply actions

Mostly players who are better value than Drury.

And seriously — get drugged tomorrow. You are entirely too stressed about this.

THIS JUST IN!!!!

Brad Richards signs with LA for 5 years at 6 million each.

Also Anaheim has signed Drury for 4 years at 4 mill each.

I'm warning you! I have ADHD and I know how to use it!!!
Good job Giants, now win 3 more world series titles and then you just might be worthy of being mentioned in the same league as the A's.
