Counting the year that remains on Couture's existing contract, this carries him through the end of the collective bargaining agreement and the following year, 13-14.
The Sharks have the following players signed through at least the 13-14 season:
So that's cool.
When the team traded for Brent Burns earlier this summer some people started to worry about what they were going to do next summer, when both Burns and Couture would need new contracts and could likely demand big paydays.
Never mind about that I guess.
