It's the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoff Pool First Round Update! That I totally almost got around to, but am now making a lame effort on because I was an idiot and teased it, only four days late! Let's look at the standings!

In the first round, there were 487 points available and 329 points guaranteed. That is, those would be the points earned by the best and worst possible ballots, respectively.

After DodgerBlueBalls and OpenWater traded leads throughout the opening round, the leader turned out to be arbunon792 by a point. The updated standings as of 4/29 show Goolian in a tie for the lead with OpenWater at 465, but Arbunon, even with the Kings at 3 and the Coyotes at 5, has more points on the table than any other contestant right now and so, in my mind, is still the one to beat. That won't matter if these series don't go long, though! Earl Sleek snuck in to 3rd place when I wasn't looking and is in position to take the lead if the Coyotes and Capitals do well.

On the flip side of that, HaroldRamis had his 16th, 15th, 14th,13th, 12th, and 11th-ranked teams all eliminated in the first round and is completely fucked! The only two teams he successfully picked to lose were the Florida Panthers and the Ottawa Senators. Thanks for playing, Harold! Ghostbusters rules!
