Sharks Sign Gomez

Gomez, pictured here, is a very special player.

What took so long?

As a way of celebrating their dismantling of the Edmonton Oilers, the Sharks finally decided to sign Scott Gomez. The deal is for one year, $700,000.

This is good news, even if Gomez has become something of a punchline in recent years. He could have one leg and he would still be better than Michal Handzus on the team's third line.

Welcome aboard, Gomez!
