While there has been a definite trend of western conference dominance over the eastern conference this early season, one notable exception was the east's Tampa Bay Lightning, who earned victories in their first seven games against the western conference, including 5-1 wins against the Kings and Ducks, plus two wins against the defending Stanley Cup champions. Through those first seven "vs. west" games, the Lightning outscored opponents by an average score of 4.14 to 2.00.
Then they headed west. And they forgot to bring their Stamkos with them.
The Coyotes actually put the first blemish in Tampa's western record, defeating the Bolts 6-3. Next it was California's turn.
Awful tradition time!
I actually didn't have to make any graphic this time -- turns out this was created back in November 2010. Hooray for previous effort!
This has all happened before and it will all happen again. So say we all.
