Ducks Gameday—A typical Friday effort

Chicago Blackhawks (19-17-3, t-11th in west) at Anaheim Ducks (20-17-5, t-7th in west)

Sorry guys, it's Friday and I got home later than Rudy did last night. I got nothing.

I guess the only thing I'll note is that with Pahlsson on the shelf and Selanne on retirement row, the only European left on the roster is Swiss-born backup goalie Jonas Hiller. That means that in three of the last four games, the Ducks have featured Don Cherry's wet dream—all positions on the ice for an entire sixty-minute game were played by North Americans. I can't even think of one other NHL squad that is close to that.

In the spirit of multi-nationalism, then, here's a story about how influential Lauren Pronger is (I think).

Prediction: Ducks 3, Hawks 1. The Blackhawks are short rookie phenom Jonathan Toews and played and lost in Phoenix last night; seems way too ripe for an easy win. Still, the Ducks don't do easy wins this year—this will probably be a nail biter. I didn't get to watch the Kings beat up on the Hawks earlier this week, but as I told my kid brother, "I can see the Kings scoring 9 goals in a game more than I can see it from the Ducks." Goals by Pahlsson, Ryan, and Perry.

Go Ducks.
