The Kings have lost 3 straight, each in fairly agonizing fashion:
Against Montreal, the Kings played them pretty much even but Matt Greene fell down and cost them the game.
Against the Ducks, the Kings should have won but a couple bad bounces cost them the game.
Against the Wild, the Kings would have won but a couple boneheaded, stupid plays cost them the game.
It's not all bad, though, since the Kings were in all 3 games. It's odd but the more agonizing the loss, the better you should feel about your team's prospects in the future. The Kings have outshot their last 2 opponents by 12 and 27 shots, respectively, and if they keep that up they'll probably start winning. Plus, Andrei Loktionov rebounded from a poor game in Terry Murray's eyes against Anaheim and played the 2nd most even strength minutes of any center against Minnesota. Plus, Ethan Moreau got waived and we'll never have to see him again. Plus, Willie Mitchell is coming back today and Mike Richards will probably be back sometime in the next 3 games. And when he does come back, the Kings could potentially line up like this:
Brown-Kopitar-Penner
Richardson-Richards-Stoll
Gagne-Loktionov-Williams
Clifford-Fraser-Lewis/Hunter
I'm optimistic.
Prediction: Kings lose, 5-1. Fuck this team, burn it all down, etc.
