BoC Gameday: It's OUR Vertigo

Jonas Hiller: Bobby, this is exactly why our relationship does not work.
Bobby Ryan: Our relationship doesn't work?
Hiller: No, not as long as you keep getting me all mixed up with JS Giguere.
Ryan: It is exactly the opposite. I'm leaving Giggy for you. You're replacing Giggy!

*Bobby realizes what he said, has panic attack; Hiller gets woozy and slowly lies down

I feel bad for Hiller, but I admit that I'd probably giggle if the Ducks literally killed their goaltender with their shitty defense. Are the Ducks drinking chlorinated water or something? Lydman's seeing double, Hiller can't stand up, and Ryan Getzlaf's bones are brittle. The Getzlaf one is especially weird since he always drinks plenty of... malk?

*Arrested Development? Check. The Simpsons? Check. Looks like we can take the rest of the day off. Good job, everyone!

[Smyth-Stoll-Williams] was below average throughout the road trip. There were just too many minuses. The chemistry was not there, throughout the road trip, I felt, and they were really pushing it, really forcing a lot of play on the offensive side of the game. As a result of it, there was stuff coming back at us, on odd(-man) rushes. So we need a different look.

All very true. Like I said a while ago, the Kings' success at keeping the puck out of the net hinged upon their ability to get the Handzus-Kopitar-Simmonds line against the other teams' best offensive line. The other team tried to pick on Stoll's line. The Kings had varying success keeping the puck out of their net, but the bottom line was that the Smyth-Stoll-Williams line allowed too many goals.

The Kings are now rolling these lines:

Sturm-Kopitar-Simmonds

Smyth-Stoll-Brown

Richardson-Handzus-Williams

Blah

Instead of one line that needs to be matched against a top line, the Kings now have 3 lines that can be rolled against whoever. Each line has a guy to push the tempo (Sturm, Smyth, & Williams, respectively), along with 2 solid defensive players. I really like that 3rd line; it'll probably get the easiest minutes on the road and pairing the lead-footed Michal Handzus with 2 of our 4 fastest skaters seems like a no-brainer. I'm optimistic!

That Limitless movie... retarded, right?

Prediction: Kings win, 4-2. I spill beer on Earl's green shirt while I celebrate. I care not.
