I'm not sure if I'm allowed to make conditions to the Kings since they just won that thing but I have a few, uh, requests for them to keep in mind as we head towards July 1st:
1) Don't trade Andrei Loktionov and give him a shot on the wing
2) Make sure, no matter what, that Trevor Lewis isn't starting the season on the 3rd line
3) Trade Brad Richardson & offer to trade Davis Drewiske if he wants a chance to establish himself as an NHL defenseman
4) Overall, make additions with the eye towards adding offense, especially along the third line
5) No Irish
That's it. That's all reasonable, right? Go after Zach Parise, re-sign Dustin Penner, bring Bud Holloway over, whatever. I personally think the Kings should pursue internal options and look for something during the season/at the deadline... but hey, whatever. You guys get a pass this season.
If you trade Loktionov, though...
I will hunt you.
I will find you.
And I will whine incessantly.
One more fun game: count how many of the defensemen in your organization would make the Ducks' defensive squad next season. I think the Kings have 10:
-Drew Doughty
-Willie Mitchell
-Rob Scuderi
-Slava Voynov
-Matt Greene
-Alec Martinez
-Davis Drewiske
-Thomas Hickey
-Jake Muzzin
-Andrew Campbell
Do it for your own team! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
