You know what I'm sick of? Hockey.
You know what there hasn't been enough of on this blog lately? Video game talk.
So let's fix these issues today, shall we?
My 71st-favorite video game is Altered Beast. Check out this crazy (and also way more homoerotic than I recall) bullshit right here:
Altered Beast was an important game for me because it was the game that came with the Sega Genesis I got as a present when I was five years old. So this was the first video game I owned for the first system I owned. Because of this I probably would have loved this game even if it was terrible, but Altered Beast was actually pretty good, even though it was clearly completely insane. I mean, you are punching zombies and demons and turtles and dragons and shit and you get power-ups that make you buff and then eventually turn you into some sort of were-creature while you make your way through scenes from Greek Mythology. The message of the game was clear: "VIDEO GAMES ARE AWESOME AND YOU SHOULD PLAY THEM FOREVER!"
And they are, and so I did.
So that's my story about the first game I owned, and how it hooked me on video games.
Now, please, I'd like to hear from YOU. In the comments, let us know what the first game you owned or played a lot was. What was your gateway game?
The Senators AGAIN? Why?
If you really want to hear what I have to say about the Senators you can go read what I wrote the last time they played.
I reached out to noted Senators fan @BonksMullet on Twitter. Here's his take on today's contest:
@MegalodonBOC When do you need it?

Insightful as always, Mr. Mullet.
Prediction: The Sharks win 5-2 after Joe Pavelski absorbs some glowing orbs and becomes a were-tiger or something.
