Los Angeles Kings Gameday: Bullying

We here at the BoC are big, nasty bullies

If somehow you didn't hear, the NFL seems to have a bullying problem. Some fat white guy said some mean things to a fat black guy, the black guy quit, and now there is a problem with how players talk and interact with each other. Obviously, bullying is bad (m'kay), but it's been in sports for years so people shouldn't be shocked. Now some zoo-fucker took it too far. So everyone going, "How could this ever happen? A-bloo bloo bloo," is pretty ridiculous. If only the NFL could have had the same concern for guys suing the league for suffering brain damage resulting in memory loss, depression, and mental illness. Or keeping a game on where twelve hours earlier a player committed a murder-suicide. Or the vast amount of players that have killed or wounded people. Yes, this publicized bit of name calling between millionaires is far more important.

But this isn't an NFL post. No, I started wondering about this "online bullying" thing that occasionally my TV informs me of that is bad. We bloggers are a nasty bunch, to be sure. Especially when we hide behind aliases like "Megalodon" and "Jared Dobias". So who do we pick on? Usually the athletes we are watching then writing about. But they get paid millions of dollars, so fuck them and their "feelings". Score a fucking goal Lewis, for god's sake. There are others however that do get picked on that aren't filthy stinking rich playing a game for a living. No, sometimes we pick on other writers. And we here at the Battle of California are at the forefront of bullying. We have constantly picked on poor little Lenny Palumbo. Meg started this bullying, then glorified it further putting his mean ol' post in the Hall of Fame here. Luckily, Rudy decided to shed some light on the plight of Lenny to bring up some sympathy. However, Meg returned to pick not only on Lenny, but his friend and coworker Frank Parlato. Over at Twitter, well...

It's pandemic. Just because Lenny Palumbo is a ignorant, backwards thinking bigot he is regularly bullied. When will the clearly stupid stop being prosecuted? We haven't heard from poor little Lenny in over a year. Is he okay? Did he have to leave his job in fear of being picked on? Don't worry, Lenny, it get's better.

Though maybe it is too late. Well, for Lenny it certainly is. Yet another close-minded homophobic crap-faucet lost due to bullying. It's not even his fault! He was born this way as a moron and did nothing to expand his narrow mindset! And then he formed a bunch of idiotic opinions that he somehow formulated into speech. I hope you are all pleased with yourselves. Especially you, Meg. Now we need to do what we can to prevent the same thing from happening to innocent Pavel Datsyuk and, more importantly, peace icon Vladimir Putin. I know they are rich also, but nobody deserves this sort of focused hatred.

It appears that the bullies like Megalodon have now turned their attentions to backward little hamlets like Winnipeg. Leave them alone, their buses are new at least to them. But don't worry everyone. I'm here and I'm a nice guy. Unless you have a lake. Fuck you and your stupid fucking lakes you pathetic pieces of shit. No wonder no one likes you. Fuckin' stank-ass loser.

These guys again? Less than a week after playing in Los Angeles, the Kings and Sabres meet up again, this time in the coldest, worst part of New York. Kyle Clifford has been added to the mounting pile of bodies cluttering up the injured reserve list, and it may be a concussion. Clifford has a slight history with head injuries, and seeing how he is more of a bottom six winger, there isn't really a need to rush him back. Matt Greene and Jeff Carter, who I daresay are a bit more important, also remain out of the lineup. All three are supposedly not joining the road trip either.

One guy who is coming back is Jarret Stoll, who at least can get the Kings better looking again. With Linden Vey seeming like he will be getting a few more looks (likely on the fourth line still), the Kings have an interesting flux of bottom six guys currently. The only real left wing of the group is now down to Daniel Carcillo now (depending on your definition of "real" though). It's quite possible the Kings just flip Jordan Nolan, Matt Frattin, or Trevor Lewis to the left side, but given the proximity to Manchester during this road trip, and how well Tyler Toffoli and Vey have looked, Tanner Pearson may finally get a shot.

The Sabres meanwhile have had some time off as well, which for their sakes hopefully gave them a chance to regroup after a 6-2 drubbing in Anaheim. Still, there are 190 players that have more points than Buffalo has currently. They also are 29th in goals for and 26th in goals against, so yeah, probably past the point of salvaging anything this year anyways.

Prediction: The Kings have a bit of momentum and are well rested, taking on an inferior opponent. They lose 4-1 because that's what they do in these situations.
