When playing the Phoenix Coyotes, there are two things that are fairly likely to happen. One, Shane Doan will go after someone with a cheapshot (which Coyotes fans will defend because Doan is "such a nice guy off the ice," despite his on-ice antics and history of suspensions for being a piece of shit). Two, Mike Smith will dive or embellish to draw a penalty.

While Mike Smith was growing up poor, he had dreams of Hollywood and life in front of the cameras, but his parents could not afford acting lessons for him. So he strapped some phone books on to his shins to work as improvised goalie equipment (which he also could not afford) and taught himself how to play goalie.

But a little piece of the acting bug he caught as a child never left him, and sometimes it makes its way out at the opportune time for Smith and his team.

So here are some of Smith's best dives and embellishments of his NHL career...
