The Avs suck really bad and no one cares except J.S. Giguere.
At least Jiggy called out his team for their horrible performance as of late (unlike pouty Drew Doughty, who just cried like a child about how unfair it is that the Kings worked so hard for a win but still lost to the Ducks). In a recent post game interview, Jiggy indicated that his teammates have stopped caring about games altogether and are more interested in their offseason plans:
Some guys are more worried about their Vegas trip at the end of the season than playing the remaining games. Quite frankly I don't care about your Vegas trip right now. It's not constructive. It's embarrassing. I'm embarrassed to be here right now. It's not even funny.
It's certainly not funny for Giguere, who I think most Ducks fans would agree deserves better, but for the rest of us, it is pretty funny.
This game, like many of our few remaining regular season games, should be a fairly low stress one. Which of course means the Ducks will probably play down to the competition and blow it, but it sure is hard to get too worried about a few losses down this stretch as we coast in to a great playoff spot.
The Ducks have hit the jackpot.
Prediction: After tonight's game, Drew Doughty tears up as he tells us that there's "no doubt" that the Avalanche outplayed the Ducks, but still lost.
