Kevin Bieksa of the Vancouver Canucks took a page from the Mike Babcock school of racism on Monday:
Bieksa was all over Couture & Thornton for embelishment in Gm 3. "Two so-called Canadians, who are supposed to play the game with integrity"
— Farhan Lalji (@FarhanLaljiTSN) May 6, 2013
Bieksa continued (probably):
"Yeah I mean I could totally understand the lack of integrity if they were filthy Swedes or cowardly Germans or backstabbing Australians but they are Canadians! That means they are naturally morally superior and are supposed to live up to a higher standard of play, to provide an example for all the other, lesser peoples of the Earth. We Canadians have an obligation - a 'Canadian Man's Burden' if you will - to uphold the integrity of the sport of hockey against the corrupting influence of Finns, Czechs, Slovaks, Slovenians, Americans, Russians..."
Then Bieksa was tackled by the Vancouver Canucks public relations manager and the interview ended.
UPDATE: Here's video of Bieksa's comments.
