Sharks Extend Poe Javelski

Let's go Poe!

Poe.

The San Jose Sharks have finally answered their biggest roster question of the off-season by signing Poe Javelski to a five year contract extension worth $30 million.

With the big three of Thornton, Marleau, and Boyle all entering the final year of their contracts, Poe joins Brent Burns, Logan Couture, and Marc-Edouard Vlasic as the Sharks of the future, as all four players are on multi-year deals.

Javelski's deal will pay him in the neighborhood of six million per year, which seems just about right for a guy who is better than Dustin Brown in most statistically significant metrics.

I like this deal for the Sharks, though of course it would have been nice if they could have gotten it done for less money. With the new collective bargaining rules, though, this seems to be what you're going to pay for a player of Javelski's skills.

I feel pretty good about the future of the San Jose Sharks with Brent, Logan, Marc-Edouard, and Poe locked up for years to come.

Wait what? His name is Joe Pavelski?

Shit. How do I edit this? What's this "publish" button do?
