I was away from Battle of California for the past week, but I was still checking Twitter...which is great because the announcement of Team Canada's roster made for one of the funniest days in hockey twitter history.
Here are the five funniest hockey-related tweets of the past week:

[postgame interview] Just want to thank the people who yelled "SHOOT" every time we touched the puck. They were a big part of tonight's win.
— stefan (@boring_as_heck) January 11, 2014
Also the guy who yelled "How much time's left?" right before the announcer said "one minute remaining in the period." You are the best, dude.

instead of OT, they should decide this game by letting James Neal and Taylor Hall talk to a dog, and whoever makes the dog bark first wins

Nonsense + Dogs is a recipe for success in the Twitter game.

That's annoying. RT @HockeyCanada: We will tweeting each player on the roster, one by one as they are announced. Tell us what you think!
— Dave Lozo (@DaveLozo) January 7, 2014
From the Nazi jerseys to the way the team was announced on television and on Twitter, everything about Team Canada was a disaster...except the actual roster. That's pretty good, actually.

"We feeneesh fourt in da Worl Junior"

I'm not sure why it's okay and not offensive to make fun of the way French people talk, but the fact is that it is totally okay and totally hilarious.
#1 - The Fake Dan Ellis Memorial Tweet of the Week!
Next up, a moose

For those of you who have questions about why Chris Kunitz made the Olympic team over Joe Thornton, please ask the moose.
The Funniest @cityofwinnipeg Tweet of the Week!
@triiiiiiiiisha Hi, unfortunately we do not have this information. This should be probably be addressed by Canada Post.
— City of Winnipeg (@cityofwinnipeg) January 8, 2014
Sorry Trisha, the fact of the matter is that nobody cares about you. It might have something to do with the fact that you live in Winnipeg.
Remember, if you see a funny hockey tweet during the week and think it deserves a place in the top five, send it to me @MegalodonBOC .
