Ducks Gameday: Battle of California Comments of the Week (Week 7)

New, 20 comments

It's a Sunday game, so you know what that means: Burrito time! Here are your favorite comments from this past week (11/16/2014 - 11/122/2014). Coyotes @ Ducks.

They don't know how to make these in Texas.
They don't know how to make these in Texas.

This is a reoccurring weekly feature that awards the "El Burrito de la Victoria" trophy to the comments with the most amount of reader "recommendations" from the prior week. All recommendations are tallied the night before this feature is posted. With any luck, this will encourage you to not only comment more often, but to be funnier.

The Ducks are having a rough November. Prior to tonight's game, they've played 9 games this month so far, and have only tallied up 3 wins. Thankfully, most of their losses are coming in overtime/shootout, so they're still managing to tally up some standings points and lead the division. It'll be nice for this stupid month to just end.

But we're not here to talk about all that, it's burrito day! Here are the comments our readers like the most last week...

The Best

In response to Kings blogger Dunn taking over Sharks blogging duties from Stace for one day...

This new guy sucks.

Bring back that other guy, Stace!

Honorable Mentions

Here are some other highly-rec'd comments of the past week...

In response to Dunn being called biased and uneducated...

Have you ever read any article here?

In response to Stace taking her Shark writing duties back from Dunn, a twist on the ol' BRING BACK MEGOLODON classic:

BRING BACK MEGOLODUNN

The origin-story of a disgruntled Panthers fan who came to defend his favorite team on Battle of California...

At the beginning of November he joined every hockey blog on SBN in the hopes that someone would trashtalk the Panthers. That’s when he would strike, and prove to them how wrong they were about his beloved team. It was the long game, seeing as how no one cares about the Panthers, but that one moment of sweet redemption would make all those hours browsing article after article worth it.

On Tuesday, November 18th an obscure blog known as "Battle Of California" finally gave him the chance he was waiting for, and he reveled in it.

And finally, I respond to a list posted by the aforementioned Panthers fan of all the great players on the team that we should respect...

"Oh, you’re not familiar with our roster? well here’s a bunch of other no-names on our team, you fucking moron! haha, I sure showed you."

The Worst Comment of the Week

...As selected by me, arbitrarily.

I guess since we all had fun replying to it and making fun of it, let's post the Panthers fan's rant that three of us responded to above:

Lets take a look at the rest of the Florida Panthers roster shall we?

Jonathan Huberdeau!

A young rookie who is currently on the cusps of having a strong bounce back from a sophomore slump. Wasn’t he also the Calder Trophey winner during the 2012-2013 season (rhetorical question)?

Aaron Ekblad!

The number one pick of the 2014 draft, who is on a 4 point game streak. He’s been logging top line minutes as a defense-man and is number 5 in points for rookies chasing the Calder.

Nick Bjugstad!

Big Nick Bjugstad who is coming off a ridiculous 4 point night against the number one team in the west (according to the standings). A force to be reckoned with in the circle, in the offensive zone, and the defensive zone.

Vincent Trocheck!

He massacred a water bottle and emptied it in the processes with a laser of a shot to open the blood bath that was Sunday night.

Prediction: The writer of this article continues to put out articles that are uneducated and biased with a heavy dose of douchery.

Gameday

Coyotes (8 - 12) @ Ducks (12 - 9)

Sunday, Nov 23, 2014, 5:00 PM PST

Honda Center

Prediction

That Panthers fan is still upset with us.

Ducks go to another god damn shootout. But maybe we actually win one again. Rene Bourque has two assists.
