Ducks Gameday: Battle of California Comments of the Week (Week 9)

New, 9 comments

A look at last week's best reader comments before tonight's Ducks @ Jets game. Comments from 11/30/2014-12/6/2014.

Bruce Fedyck-USA TODAY Sports

The Ducks play the Winnipeg Jets tonight, which is a team that nobody really has any strong feelings one way or the other. They're easy to overlook, and the only thing people really remember about them is that Pttrick Kane's younger, blacker cousin Evander Kane plays for them.

To be fair, Evander Kane is awesome. A lot of idiots in Winnipeg hate him because it's another town full of racists, and Kane likes to find ways to rustle all their jimmies. Like his latest #pushups photo, which made a lot of people angry because they feel black people shouldn't be allowed to have money or fun.

The bigots of the hockey world were alight with dog-whistle racist terms like "classless" and "thug" and it was all very fun to watch stupid people get riled up over him. Kane is great, you guys.

Anyway, like I said, there's not much going on with the Jets, so instead of talking about them, let's do another round of Burrito Awards...

Comments of the Week
11/30/2014-12/6/2014

This is a reoccurring weekly feature that awards the "El Burrito de la Victoria" trophy to the comments with the most amount of reader "recommendations" from the prior week. All recommendations are tallied the night before this feature is posted. With any luck, this will encourage you to not only comment more often, but to be funnier.

The Best

We're still on Holiday commenting mode it appears, so there isn't much to post, but here goes. Yours truly is taking home another burrito tonight, folks! For context, Stace wrote a post in which she consulted an internet Magic 8-Ball for answers to the Sharks' future. Thyme commented that internet magic 8-balls are dumb, because you don't get to shake them yourself. My response is the comment you voted as your favorite this week, and it's not even that great...

Stace was vigorously shaking her monitor

Thanks for yet another Burrito, folks!

Honorable Mentions

Here are some other comments you seemed to enjoy...

This is another one that needs context, so I'm posting both the comment that got the rec's (PNK's) along with the comment he's replying to.

Was it here that we were talking about Marleau's son asking his dad for a Crosby autograph? Or was that Twitter?

-------------------

I'm pretty sure

it was Marleau asking his kid to ask Crosby for an autograph, and make it out to "Patrick."

I make another appearance this week, as I point out how I can break hockey news like a real hockey journalist despite my lack of sources or connections, when I accidentally accurately predicted Ilya Bryzgalov's return to Anaheim...

This is a throwback to some past comments a Florida Panthers fan made about the type of people he doesn't like shopping with, and if you don't get the joke, you should try visiting the site more often. In response to the aforementioned Panthers fan talking about actual hockey...

Safer than bringing up demographics at the local mall.

Oh hey, speaking of that Panthers fan, someone wanted to know if racists find Alec Martinez threatening, and who better to clue us in?

Can we get the racist Panthers fan to let us know if he’s threatened by him?

If you don't see your name here from last week, start commenting more and be funny this week.

The Worst

...As selected by me, arbitrarily.

All of your comments were just fine this week, way to go. We all win.
