Oh hey, the gameday preview widget still isn't working around here, so pretend this is it:
Anaheim Ducks |
---|
@ Nashville Predators |
Saturday, February 8, 5:00 PM on PT, FSTN |
Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee |
A lot of horrible things happen to the Predators on a fairly regular occurrence (such as having to live in Nashville), but in the past few days the team ran in to a string of bad luck and two pretty crummy things happened to them.
First:
GM David Poile got hit by puck in #preds morning skate; being helped by #preds training staff and #mnwild's Don Fuller
— Michael Russo (@Russostrib) February 6, 2014
Second:
#Preds broadcaster Pete Weber hospitalized after heart attack. Good luck Pete but you still have to listen to Terry Crisp when you're back.
— David Shoalts (@dshoalts) February 6, 2014
The first one is kind of funny, considering Poile appears to be okay. The second one, while Pete Weber also seems to be recovering okay, is probably not funny or something to joke about. And given how touchy Predators fans are, if I tried to make light of it I'd probably cause some of them to have heart attacks too.
Get well soon, Poile and Weber.
No idea what brought on this curse over Nashville Predators (has Hertl been around Tennessee lately?), but I sure hope it continues tonight. Ducks have been in slump, losing to some mediocre teams along the way, and it sure would be nice to come out of a tailspin right before the Olympic break.
I'm not saying I want anyone else from the Preds to have a heart attack or anything, but maybe one of Dunn's Super STDs will find its way over there. One can only hope.
Gameday Prediction
The Ducks never win again.
Classic Moment
To help commemorate the Ducks' 20th year this season, each gameday I'll be posting a clip of a classic moment from the team's history against that night's opponent. Here is today's...
The Predators eliminated us from the playoffs once. Bummer.
