I'm pretty sure I've written about this before, but I'm too lazy to go read what I said. So forgive me if I'm repeating myself.
Almost every Black Friday since 2008, Anaheim has played Chicago (and always in Anaheim). There were some games against them on the day prior to 2008 as well, but less consistently. I'm not sure why it always happens, but It's become a tradition and it's the best.
Here's the history...
1995-96 season: | Fri Nov 24 1995 | at Ana | Chicago 5, Anaheim 4 (OT) |
1996-97 season: | Fri Nov 29 1996 | at Ana | Anaheim 2, Chicago 0 |
2003-04 season: | Fri Nov 28 2003 | at Ana | Anaheim 4, Chicago 3 |
2008-09 season: | Fri Nov 28 2008 | at Ana | Anaheim 1, Chicago 0 |
2009-10 season: | Fri Nov 27 2009 | at Ana | Anaheim 3, Chicago 0 |
2010-11 season: | Fri Nov 26 2010 | at Ana | Chicago 4, Anaheim 1 |
2011-12 season: | Fri Nov 25 2011 | at Ana | Chicago 6, Anaheim 5 |
2014-15 season: | Fri Nov 28 2014 | at Ana | Chicago 4, Anaheim 1 |
We've lost the last few Black Friday games, and we'll definitely lose tonight.
But, tradition! Hooray!
