We kinda knew going into this season that things weren't going to be pretty, and the fact is that it's a miracle that the San Jose Sharks are even in a playoff spot currently with the changes that they have made. After the devastating loss to the Los Angeles Kings in the playoffs last April, it was pretty apparent that serious changes needed to be made, but those serious changes actually became a series of bumbling mistakes that have caused the Sharks to be on the playoff bubble. While yes, they are still in the playoff picture, they could easily be on the outside if they drop a couple more games as other teams keep winning.
The fact is that the Los Angeles Kings have gotten into this organization's head in every sense. The changes that were made are kinda catered to competing with the Kings, not thinking how it would impact their play against the other 28 teams and also, the fans. Sure, the Sharks are leading the Kings in the season series right now, but at what cost? When does this organization stop trying to be the other horrible traits of a different organization and start getting their own identity again?
It's something that we are actually seeing with many other organizations. They see the Los Angeles Kings and think, "man, for a team with a very pathetic history, they are finally making their own right now, and I think I should copy them because they are successful." But that's not how it works--organizations have to get their own system going and acquire the best possible traits to succeed against any organization in this league. You cannot only focus on your biggest rival because you're setting yourself up for failure, and also, you're going to annoy the fuck out of your fans.

Seriously though, what the fuck is this?
This is a problem that has been sweeping through the social media world for the past few seasons, as team twitter accounts have attempted to model the way that they interact with their fans by acting like they are a 16 year old kid. The one thing that we had as Sharks fans to be proud of that was that our team's twitter account did not fall to this, the worst type of peer pressure.
It took a crushing blown 3-0 lead for the Sharks to make their worst possible change in their organization, which is even worse because they are showing up relatively late to an absolutely horrendous trend.

Most will blame the millennials for this poor behavior but it's really at the fault of the baby boomers for not raising their offspring correctly, what an awful time to be alive. If the Sharks continue to make these terrible decisions, they're going to be looking at memes and GIFs from mid-April til September, rather than just late-April til September.
Gameday!
