Look, I'm still recovering from a near-death experience brought about by playing the Battle of California Drinking Game for Saturday's Stadium Series game. Most of the alcohol poisoning symptoms have subsided, but it's been a rough weekend. This post is really going to be phoned in.
In keeping with my recent tradition of not even bothering to write about the team we're playing (sorry, Red Wings), I'm going to write about something that happened Saturday afternoon involving our old friend Earl Sleek.
It actually started Friday, when I was contacted by one of the hosts of Saturday Sports Extra on TSN 1260 in Edmonton. They wanted my brilliant Battle of California insight on the Ducks @ Oilers game that was to happen Saturday evening, and knowing I would simply embarrass myself if I went on the air, I declined and suggested Earl Sleek as the man they would really want to talk to.
Earl, being braver and smarter than I am, showed up on Saturday for the interview. You can listen to it by clicking the link below, his spot starts at about 16 minutes in.

That is the voice of a handsome gentleman who really knows what he's talking about.
Maybe I'll start watching hockey one day and can show up for interviews too!
Red Wings (31 - 21) @ Ducks (34 - 19)

Jimmy Howard is actually a good goaltender tonight, for once.
Haha, just kidding. But Ducks still lose 5-3. Hat trick from Andrew Cogliano.
