Ducks Gameday: Battle of California Comments of the Week (Week 25)

New, 8 comments

A look at last week's best reader comments, as voted by readers, before tonight's Oilers @ Ducks game. Comments from 3/22/2015-3/28/2015.

This is a reoccurring weekly feature that awards the "El Burrito de la Victoria" trophy to the comments with the most amount of reader "recommendations" from the prior week. All recommendations were tallied the night before this feature was posted. With any luck, this will encourage you to not only comment more often, but to be funnier.

For today's gameday post, I've put together a thoughtful piece with many funny jokes.

Haha April Fools', all you get today is another burrito post, suckers!

The Best

With an assist from Spade, who was having trouble reading...

but it is still hard to read

Oh god, are you a Kings fan now?

Honorable Mentions

This one makes no sense without context, but to quikcly summarize, I failed to write a post for a Ducks/Rangers gameday, and someone compared that to some of my other half-assed efforts...

You took this concept to the next level with yesterday’s Rangers gameday post.

There's no way to make that funny without context, but apparently you guys liked it this week.

Speaking of which, here's another one that needs a bunch of fucking context...

Does Michelle Nelson seriously consider Kid Rock as worthwhile a cultural contribution as Motown and Ford?

I was skeptical until she reminded me that Detroit was a key factor in winning WWII.

And finally...

Everyone left Detroit not because of economic conditions, but because time travelers warned them of the coming of Kid Rock and ICP.

So anyway, nothing was particularly hilarious this week and everything required too much context. Looks like those of us writing gameday posts aren't the only ones burnt out on this season.

Be funnier, jerks.

The Worst

As chosen arbitrarily, by me...

Another idiot got hooked into signing up for an SBNation account just to piss and moan about us, and what a shock, they're from Minnesota...

Typical Californian Attitude

Yes, people on the coasts are smarter. That’s why you pay a premium to live crammed together in rat-infested crap holes like LA. You can just get on the 5, go up to Magic Mountain, get on Riddler’s Revenge and never get off!

"Haha, suckers, you live in a state people actually want to be in!"

Good one, dude.

A lot of idiots fall for a lot of obvious jokes today.
