HEARTBREAK: California Expansion Team Denied

Yesterday, July 21st 2015, the NHL officially announced the two applicants that the league has accepted as "serious" candidates for future expansion.

The applications accepted are reported to be Las Vegas, Nevada and Quebec City, Quebec.

It is with heavy hearts that we here at Battle of California announce that our application to introduce an additional California team has been declined by the league.

Yesterday morning, we received this memo from the league:

This is not the first time that Battle of California has received heartbreaking, soul-crushing news from the league, which was totally legitimate and didn't make fools of all of the morons who took it seriously because they don't have any common sense whatsoever and don't understand the concept of jokes.

At this point, it is very clear that the NHL has something specifically against the Battle of California blog itself, though we can't imagine who would possibly hold a grudge against us, the most lovable blog in the West.
